NEWS: Can You Afford An Employment Tribunal?

Did you know that there were over 200,000 Employment Tribunal Claims last year in England and Wales?

A disability discrimination case brought last year resulted in the largest ever employment tribunal payout in Wales - at just under £400,000!

With the recent removal of the default retirement age, experts are predicting a significant rise in Age Discrimination claims.

Can your business afford the disruption, emotional upheaval, and substantial costs of fighting and potentially losing an employment tribunal?

In most cases, prevention is better than the cure. Critchleys HR and Payroll can help you prevent unnecessary claims, support you during any disciplinary processes, insure you against any adverse tribunal payouts, and offer you peace of mind across the whole employee minefield!

For more details about last year's UK Employment Tribunal Claims, click here, but more importantly, do call Fiona and her team on 01865 261188 and make sure you are covered.

HINTS & TIPS: Varying Employee Contracts

In the current economic climate, some organisations' profit margins are shrinking and many small businesses may now be considering a change to one of their largest costs - wage bills.

Not a popular topic of conversation, but most forward-thinking employees should appreciate that a reduction in wages has to be a better option than widescale job losses.

Wages, salaries, and employee benefits are the most emotive issues for all employers and implementing any significant change to employee contracts has to be handled with care - both from the HR legal compliance standpoint but also to minimise any fall in staff morale.

Fortunately, we've prepared a short guide with suggestions about how to implement changes to employee contracts. If you are even considering this area, you really must read this before your next move!
