LEGISLATION UPDATE: TIME IS RUNNING OUT...
  The government has confirmed its plans to abolish the Default Retirement Age from 6th April 2011.
This means that employers will no longer be able to 'force' their staff to retire and, all being well, employees will have the freedom to continue working as long as they choose.
You should now consider whether any of your employees may be eligible for retirement before 1st October 2011 - because it will be too late to notify them after 5th April 2011.
Additionally, you may find that some of your existing policies need updating in order to comply with the removal of this legislation.
