LEGISLATION UPDATE: "A Green Light To Bully..."
  Vince Cable recently published the Employer's Charter to redress the fears of small businesses, who are worried about the risks of hiring staff.
This Charter is intended to encourage employment and growth by convincing employers that current legislation is NOT heavily balanced in the employee's favour.
It also seeks to reduce the need and speed up the process of Employment Tribunals.
However, Len McClusky of UNITE said: "This charter gives bad bosses a green light to bully and intimidate. Employers who misinterpret this advice will quickly find themselves in court..."

CASE STUDY: Jamie Briggs Removals & Storage Ltd
 Jamie Briggs Removals & Storage Ltd is one of the leading removal specialists in the Oxfordshire area, providing a professional Domestic & Commercial removal service throughout the whole of the UK and Europe.
They recently expanded the business and have a team of 20 people in Bicester and Banbury.
They needed advice on how best to address the seasonal fluctuations of the removal business to the benefit of both clients and employees.
They consulted Critchleys HR who advised them about "zero hour" contracts. This solution enabled the firm to take on more drivers and staff during peak periods without creating a potential problem during more normal months.
